Game Three Tonight

April 23, 2009

The Bulls return home to the United Center tonight for game three of their first-round series with the defending champion Boston Celtics.  This is a huge game for both teams as it could determine the balance of power for the remainder of the series.  The Bulls shocked the Celtics by taking them down in game one, and narrowly missed out on returning to the Windy City with a 2-0 lead.  The Bulls have played very well at home, especially down the stretch this season.  If they can bring the kind of intensity that they did in Boston, they should be in line for a victory tonight.

The key to tonight’s game should be stopping Boston point guard Rajon Rondo.  Rondo has terrorized the Bulls thus far in the series, averaging a triple-double in the first two games.  Paul Pierce is yet to have a really good game, so the team must also be on the lookout for him getting hot.  Ray Allen killed the Bulls in the second half of game two and whoever is defending him tonight must stay at home on defense and resist the urge to help.  This will be the biggest game of the season so far for the Bulls.
