Home Sweet Home

March 2, 2009

It’s becoming more and more apparent that the Bulls are a different team at home than they are on the road.  The records speak for themselves, as the Bulls are a solid 17-11 at the United Center, while they’ve managed a paltry 10-22 record while playing away from home.  This trend was exemplified this weekend as the Bulls lost to the lowly Wizards in Washington on Friday night but were able to erase a 17-point deficit at home against a good Houston club.  The Bulls outscored the Rockets 23 to three in the final six minutes of play to seal the 105-102 victory.

Derrick Rose had a very good game, going for 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the contest.  Tyrus Thomas chipped in 19 points, while Joakim Noah corralled 15 rebounds in the game.  These two young bigs have really been playing well since getting off to a slow start this season.  Before their recent surge, the Bulls looked as though they were in desperate need of help inside, but Thomas and Noah’s recent play has to be encouraging for Bulls fans.  Along with Rose, these players look to be a solid young core to build around.
