The Bulls didn’t get a whole lot out of their starting lineup in their matchup with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Starters Derrick Rose, Ben Gordon, Thabo Sefolosha, Tyrus Thomas and Aaron Gray combined for a mere 44 points in the team’s 113-94 loss. Rose scored just 11 points on five of 13 shooting from the field, adding no assists in the contest. Joakim Noah had what was probably his best performance so far this season, coming off the bench for 19 points and 11 rebounds. Noah only attempted six shots from the floor, connecting on four of them. Noah did the bulk of his work from the free throw line, where he hit 11 of his 13 attempts. The former Florida Gator also added three assists, a steal and a block while committing no turnovers.
The Bulls were unable to control the Magic’s potent offense in this one. Dwight Howard did his fair share of damage on the boards, but Orlando’s scoring came from a variety of sources. Seven Magic players scored in double figures, led by Rashard Lewis’ 21. Lewis is one of the more underrated offensive players in the league. He can play either forward position and score inside and from deep. He’s the kind of scorer that the Bulls could really use.
