Cavs Beat Bulls in Meeting of Traded Players

March 3, 2008

LeBron James went off for 37 points yesterday, sparking the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 95-86 victory over the Chicago Bulls. I’m sure plenty of you Bulls Blog readers were either at the game or watched it on national TV this Sunday. As you probably know, then, this was an important meeting for the Bulls. Not only did they have an opportunity to gain ground in the Eastern Conference, but they also has a chance to beat a team with which they were involved in a huge trade deal just a short while ago. You undoubtedly saw both Joe Smith and Ben Wallace in Cavs uniforms, playing against the Bulls. What a sight! However, it was LeBron’s day, despite the various storylines. The Bulls lost and moved to 23-36 overall. The Cavs remain one of the best teams in the East with an overall record of 34-26.

Larry Hughes led the Bulls with 23 points, and the other newly-added player, Drew Gooden, contributed a double-double. We left off on Friday with the Bulls set to play the Wizards, but they also lost that game, 97-91. Chicago will play Memphis on Tuesday night. The recent skid that the Bulls have run into has the team ranked one spot lower in the most recent NBA Power Rankings at ESPN. Come on, Bulls, let’s move up those rankings!
