Hornets Top Bulls

February 13, 2008

Kirk Hinrich played last night, but his return could not help the Bulls overcome one of the best teams in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Hornets. The Bulls fell 100-86 at the United Center. They were no match for the triple threat of Stojakovic, West and Paul, who ended with 27, 27 and 25 points each. Nocioni was the team leader with 28 points for the Bulls. Hinrich scored 15. There’s a picture of Ben Wallace at Sports Illustrated’s game recap that pretty well sums things up as far as the game went. The Bulls were in it in the first half, and they could have closed the gap on the fourth quarter, but they went dead in the final period, only scoring 36 second half points.

The Bulls are now 20-31, and they are looking forward to the All-Star break. Luol Deng and Ben Gordon were out, as usual, and they need them back healthy as soon as possible. The Bulls play the Heat tomorrow, but then they don’t play again until February 20th when they play the Nets on the road.
