Bulls General Manager John Paxson recently resigned forward Andres Nocioni for five years and $38 million dollars. The price tag was a bit high for some people’s liking, and will effectively take the Bulls out of the running for landing a top scoring center like Pau Gasol or Kevin Garnett. Instead of waiting to resign the Argentinean, Paxson decided to jump the gun and not allow other teams to pursue Nocioni in free agency.
The Grizzlies were apparently so interested in Nocioni that they flew one of their front office figures down to Buenos Aires to have lunch and discuss his future. No formal offers were submitted during the meeting, but that didn’t keep Paxson from getting worried about losing one of his sparkplugs.
If the Bulls really want Garnett or Gasol they can always wit to do it after December 15th and get one of those players in a sign-and-trade deal. But many people are starting to think that with Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, the frontline of the Bulls will be fine. If you agree, then you ought to start looking for Chicago Bulls tickets at StubHub.com.
