1996 Bulls: Best Champion Ever

June 6, 2007

ESPN has released a list of who they have determined to be the best championship teams in the history of the NBA (since the NBA and ABA merged about 30 years ago), in light of the fact that the 2007 NBA Finals will begin here shortly. The 1996 Chicago Bulls earned the top spot, and three other Bulls teams earned spots in the top ten. The 1991 Bulls were the #4 team, the 1997 Bulls got the #5 spot, and the 1992 Bulls were good for 7th.

How can you argue against a lineup like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Tony Kukoc, some random girl off the street, and coach Phil Jackson? The 1996 Bulls squad won 72 games and won 14 of their first 15 games in the playoffs that year. It is a shame you still cant get Chicago Bulls tickets to see that team, so we will just have to settle for next year’s version until StubHub.com invents a time machine.
