Kobe the next Jordan?

May 31, 2007

So how does all of this Kobe drama going on in L.A. affect the Chicago Bulls? Well, if Kobe is serious about being traded, and if it is true that he wants to be Michael Jordan, then the only possible scenario is that Kobe will end up playing in Chicago.

Of course, that’s all very unlikely. As Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald points out, what will probably happen is that the Lakers will keep Kobe, and nothing much will change. The Bulls are not one of the most likely teams to get Kobe for a few reasons. One: they need someone who can score in the post, not another shooter. Two: Kobe wants an instant championship, apparently, and the Bulls just aren’t there quite yet. Three: This is all just a big attention-grabbing play. Kobe isn’t going anywhere.

So we can dream or have nightmares about seeing Kobe Bryant by going to StubHub.com and getting Chicago Bulls tickets, but in the end, that’s all it is: a dream.
