Bulls Hope to Land Hawes

May 25, 2007

The Chicago Bulls hope to get as much as they can for their ninth overall pick in the NBA Draft. Since the team is full of young talent along the perimeter, the Bulls are looking to land a center or power forward in the draft. The best prospects at that position are probably Greg Oden (forget about it!) and Al Hortford (probably gone by the fourth pick). After that, there are a few options. One of the best available guys for the position appears to be Spencer Hawes of Washington.

With a ton of guards expected to be in the draft this year, Hawes has a fairly good chance of still being around by the time the Bulls get to pick. On the plus side, Hawes’ uncle Steve Hawes played in the NBA, so he has the right genes. He’s a 6′11” center with great post moves, a decent shot from the perimeter and adequate shot blocking skills. He is a bit of a project, but somebody that a lot of people expect to do well in the league. Hopefully you’ll be able to start getting Chicago Bulls tickets at StubHub.com for a game next year featuring Spencer Hawes.
