Take Trade Talk Easy, Bulls Fans

May 24, 2007

Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald is asking for a bit of temperance with regards to thinking about any blockbuster deals coming this summer for the Chicago Bulls. He makes the case for most of the big-name players on this roster to stay in town, with the only major addition being the No. 9 pick- potentially Spencer Hawes of Washington.

Really, there is reason to believe that with a few possible exceptions, such as key reserve Andres Nocioni, much of the same crew will be around next year. The Bulls need a big man who can score, and those kinds of players aren’t exactly overstocked in the NBA right now. The best thing that could happen to the Bulls might be to stay pat and hope to get Hawes, whose best attribute is his scoring.

Hopefully, Hawes can prove to be one of those middle first rounders who turns out to be a real find, and you’ll be going to StubHub.com this time next year for some Chicago Bulls tickets for the Eastern Conference Finals. But maybe we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
