Bulls Winning Awards Right and Left

May 4, 2007

The Chicago Bulls have won three very important awards this week. With only a few days to go before their second round match up with the Detroit Pistons, Bulls forward Luol Deng was awarded the NBA’s Joe Dumars Sportsmanship Award. Kirk Heinrich and Ben Wallace recieved two other honors earlier in the week.

The Sportsmanship award, which has been around for just over a decade, is awarded to an athlete who is selected by players and coaches in the league. It was Deng’s first time winning such and honor. P.J. Brown won the award when he played in New Orleans.

Said Bulls general manager John Paxson, “He really does epitomize everything I had hoped for in terms of a person and a basketball player. I’m just really proud of him.”

Heinrich and Wallace were awarded spots on the NBA’s All-Defensive second team. It was Wallace’s first time being selected for the second team after years of getting first team nods. For Heinrich, it was the first time ever. With all the great accolades being bestowed upon the players, isn’t it about time to start thinking about getting Chicago Bulls tickets for a few of your friends at StubHub.com for a home playoff game against the Pistons. That would truly be deserving of an award.
